Bariatric Service
The service provides:
- adjustable gastric banding
- sleeve gastrectomy
- gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y and duodenal switch)

Eligibility
Inclusion
- BMI over 40kg/m2 or 35-40kg/m2 with the presence of other significant disease
- Morbid or severe obesity present for more than 5 years
- Attended a non-surgical tier 3/4 specialist obesity weight management programme for 12–24 months (6 months if BMI over 50)
Referral to the Tier 3 Homerton Specialist Weight Management service is a pre-requisite for pre surgical patients. Please refer to the EBI policy.
