About Us

About City & Hackney Integrated Primary Care

City & Hackney Integrated Primary Care (IPC) is the federation of all 37 GP practices across City & Hackney, working together to support nearly 357,000 registered patients. We’re not a GP practice ourselves; instead, we provide services, staffing, and coordination so that local practices can focus on what matters most: delivering excellent care to their patients.

WHO WE ARE

We are a Community Interest Company (CIC), set up to strengthen primary care in City & Hackney. By pooling resources and expertise, we ensure GP practices can access the staff, systems, and support they need to deliver high-quality services.

Our Role in City & Hackney

  • Supporting GP practices with clinical and administrative staff
  • Supporting and overseeing shared services, such as the Duty Doctor and Extended Hours
  • Leading public health campaigns across City & Hackney
  • Acting as the voice of primary care in local NHS partnerships

Our Vision and Values

We believe that strong primary care is the foundation of a healthier City & Hackney. Our vision and values guide how we work with patients, practices, and partners.

Our Vision: To enable every GP practice in City & Hackney to provide safe, high-quality, and sustainable care for their patients by working together as one system.

Our Values:

  • Patient-first: Patients are at the centre of our decisions, ensuring care is safe, timely, and equitable.
  • Collaboration: We bring practices, networks, and partners together to solve shared challenges.
  • Equity: We recognise City & Hackney’s diversity and work to reduce health inequalities.
  • Innovation: We find new ways to deliver care more effectively, from shared staffing to digital tools.
  • Accountability: We are transparent in our work and accountable to our practices, partners, and community.

How Our Values Shape Our Work:

Services like the Duty Doctor and Extended Hours help ensure access to care when it’s most needed.
